On July 6th, 2002, Ilka Woywod got married
to Rolf Ocher. Ilka is one of my
colleagues and I was honored to be
invited to her wedding. Don't they
make a fine couple?

Ilka and Rolf participated in several interesting traditions after their
church wedding. The first was to cut a heart shaped hole in a
sheet and to step through together.
|
|
|
The next was to saw a log in half with a big saw.
Afterward we took a nice cruise through the harbor at
Stralsund, a wonderful Hansiatic city on the Baltic Sea.

They recieved as an interesting gift, a loaf of bread
with pennies and salt and pepper shakers.
What this tradition is supposed to mean, I am not
sure.

Another thing they had to do was practice
washing dirt diapers. Doesn't Ilka
look like she's having fun!
Unfortunately, my camera ran out of
batteries and I couldn't take more photos.

One of the coolest things was the cherry '62 bug
they rented for the wedding. And the chauffer
was the original owner!
